NWSL games Saturday – Time, TV channel and how to watch

The NWSL continues its return from a summer break on Saturday, with two nationally-televised games both pairing teams that have plenty to prove as the second half of the season gets going.

The North Carolina Courage (5W-3D-5L) sit outside the playoff places on goal difference, a disappointing outcome for a team that this winter added U.S. women’s national team attacker Jaedyn Shaw to an already potent group. They will host the San Diego Wave (7W-3D-3L), who are out to demonstrate that an impressive start to the season under new coach Jonas Eidevall wasn’t just a flash in the pan.

After those two sides face off, Bay FC (4W-3L-6D) will welcome the Houston Dash (3W-2D-8L) in a battle between teams who need to kick into gear if they’re going to qualify for the postseason. The Dash picked up just one point from their final five matches heading into the break, and moved striker Diana Ordóñez to Liga MX Femenil power Tigres during that span.

Bay FC, meanwhile, made a big summer addition in the form of U.S. youth national team star Onyeka Gamero. Fans may have to wait a few weeks to see the 19-year-old play as she returns from a long-term knee injury, but she joins a team that has plenty of potential to climb the standings.
