Gen V showrunner Michele Fazekas has suggested that the often bizarre lineup of Supes in The Boys spinoff show is set to get one of its strangest yet. Set to return on September 17, Gen V season 2 is slated to pick up after The Boys season 4 finale, which saw Homelander assume control of the US government.
At San Diego Comic-Con’s Gen V panel, where ScreenRant was in attendance, showrunner Fazekas offered some insight into the show’s sophomore season. While speaking about some of the show’s newest characters, Fazekas revealed that among the show’s latest cast additions, fans will also meet a Godolkin student unhappy with her “dumbest” power. Check out her comments below:
There’s a new character… we will meet at the school who has the dumbest power and she’s really upset about that.
What This New Gen V Character Means For Season 2
The Boys Has Already Introduced Some Really Dumb Powers
Throughout both Gen V season 1 and The Boys, fans have already been introduced to a long list of Supes with questionable, and sometimes blatantly disgusting superpowers. With fans of The Boys already familiar with characters like the Love Sausage, it may be hard to imagine that even more stupid powers still exist.
Nonetheless, Gen V season 1’s 2023 release quickly proved that the franchise’s spinoff show was more than capable of delivering its own surprises, and Fazekas’ new Supe may just put characters like Love Sausage and the buttock web-shooting Webweaver to shame.
However, the real question will be what kind of extremes this new Supe will go to in order to contend with her questionable abilities. With the fierce competition between Godolkin students likely to intensify due to Homelander’s bid to form his own Supe army, the pressure on students to prove themselves worthy is likely to be at an all-time high.
Our Take On Gen V’s Dumbest Superpower
Season 1 Proved The Spinoff Can Shock Just As Well As The Boys
While it is not exactly clear what form this new superpower may take, Fazekas’ Gen V season 2 tease is likely to send fans in a flurry of speculation. However, given that the effects of Compound V have been known to produce any manner of bizarre powers, the possibilities are nearly endless.
One thing that does seem certain, however, is that while the franchise’s flagship series may have already set the bar when it comes to introducing stupid superpowers, Fazekas and the Gen V creative team have already proven themselves capable of topping the constant barrage of shocking moments originating from their sister show.
